ANNOUNCEMENT 

With effect from 19 March 2024 (B.E. 2567), the new online e-Visa system will be implemented to replace the current visa application procedures.

A foreign national in New Zealand wishing to apply for a Thai visa, must submit an application through the new online e-Visa system which original passport and supporting documents either in person or by courier to the Royal Thai Embassy, Wellington, are no longer required. All visa applications, received after 15 March 2024 will be returned to the applicants to re-apply through this new online e-Visa system.

The Royal Thai Embassy, Wellington will only accept applications from residents of New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Samoa and Niue via https://thaievisa.go.th/. Applicants will be required to create an application account, complete the visa application form, upload supporting documents and make payment for visa fee (non-refundable) via the website. It takes around 5-10 working days to process the visa applications from the date we receive all the required documents. 

 

Royal Thai Embassy may issue the following types of visas:

Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)

Open for applications on July 15, 2024. Period of stay:5 years with multiple entry, the processing fee $NZ2,000 per person.

Long-Term Resident Visa (LTR Visa) 

Open for applications on September 1, 2022. Period of stay: 10 years with multiple entry, the processing fee $NZ6,000 per person.

Tourist Visa     
For tourism purpose including for boxing training, scuba diving training and yoga training
(Maximum stay: 60 days)                                                                                                                                                          

Non-Immigrant Visa
For the purposes of business, study, conference, seminar, film production, journalism, volunteer work or accompanying a Thai spouse

Visa Exemption Scheme                                                                                                      

Transit Visa     
For transitting through the Kingdom to proceed to your country of destination or to re-enter your home country
