วันที่ 1 มีนาคม 2558 เวลา 10.30 นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตันพร้อมครอบครัว รวมทั้งข้าราชการ และเจ้าหน้าที่ของสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เดินทางไปทำบุญตักบาตรร่วมกับชุมชนชาวไทยที่มีถิ่นพำนักอยู่ในกรุงเวลลิงตัน และบริเวณใกล้เคียง เนื่องในโอกาสวันมาฆบูชา ณ วัด Bodhinyanarama Buddhisti Monastery ได้ร่วมกิจกรรมฟังเทศน์ เวียนเทียนกับชุมชนไทย เอกอัครราชทูตฯ มาริษฯ พร้อมครอบครัวได้ร่วมถ่ายภาพกับพระอาจารย์กุสโลภิกขุ เจ้าอาวาสชาวนิวซีแลนด์ พระอาจารย์สุจิโตภิกขุชาวอังกฤษ และชุมชนชาวไทยเป็นที่ระลึกด้วย วัด Bodhinyanarama Buddhisti Monastery ตั้งอยู่ในเขต Stokes Valley ย่าน Lower Hutt บนเกาะเหนือของนิวซีแลนด์ บนเนื้อที่ประมาณ 126 เอเคอร์ ถูกสร้างขึ้นเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1985 โดยพระอาจารย์สุเมโธ ซึ่งเป็นพระชาวต่างประเทศที่อาวุโสที่สุดของพระอาจารย์ชา มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาให้เจริญสืบไปในเขตซีกโลกใต้ โดยให้เป็นที่ฝึกฝนและปฏิบัติธรรมของพุทธศาสนิกชนทุกเชื้อชาติที่ต้องการเรียนรู้ในเรื่องของพระพุทธศาสนา วัด Bodhinyanarama Buddhisti Monastery ถือเป็นส่วนแยกในต่างประเทศแห่งหนึ่งของเครือข่ายวัดไทยสายอาจารย์ชาซึ่งก่อตั้งขึ้นในประเทศต่าง ๆ ทั่วโลก

           On 1^st March 2015 at 10.30 am, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, the Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, along with his family, Embassy’s officials and staffs, attended the Buddhist Merit-Making ceremony with Thai nationals residing in the Wellington region to celebrate Maka Bucha day at the Bodhinyanarama Buddhist Monastery. During the day, the Ambassador attended the  Dhamma talk and participated in the triple-circumambulation ritual with the Thais. Thai Ambassador and his family also had photos taken with Ven. Kusalo, a New Zealander abbot, Ven. Suchito, a British monk, as well as the Thai expatriates.

            The Bodhinyanarama Buddhist Monastery is situated on a 126-acre property in Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt, North Island. The monastery was founded in 1985 by Venerable Ajahn Sumedho, the most senior foreign monk ordained by Venerable Ajahn Cha, with the mission to spread Buddhism into the Southern Hemisphere. Its primary purpose is to teach meditation to Buddhists of all nationalities. The Bodhinyanarama Buddhist Monastery is a part of the global network of Ven. Cha’s lineage of Thai monasteries.
