วันที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ 2558 เวลา 16.30 นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมภรรยาได้ร่วมงานเฉลิมฉลองวันตรุษจีนซึ่งจัดโดย Dato' Lim Kim Eng ข้าหลวงใหญ่มาเลเซียประจำประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ ณ ทำเนียบข้าหลวงใหญ่ฯ ภายในงานมีเอกอัครราชทูตฯ และข้าหลวงใหญ่ประเทศต่างๆ เข้าร่วมด้วยอย่างคับคั่ง เช่น นาย Ravi Thapar ข้าหลวงใหญ่อินเดีย นาย Peter Chan ข้าหลวงใหญ่สิงคโปร์ และนาย Kalifa Saif Ahmad Al-Mazrooei เอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ รวมทั้ง ศจ. Kim-Shyan Fam จากมหาวิทยาลัย Victoria University of Wellington ทั้งนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้ถือโอกาสการเข้าร่วมงานตรุษจีนในครั้งนี้แนะนำตัวกับกลุ่มนักการทูต นักธุรกิจและนักวิชาการด้วย ชุมชนชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลจำนวนมากอพยพโยกย้ายเข้าไปตั้งถิ่นฐานพำนักอาศัยอยู่ในประเทศนิวซีแลนด์    ทำให้อิทธิพลทางวัฒนธรรมของจีนเผยแพร่เข้าไปเรื่อย ๆ จนเป็นที่ยอมรับของทุกภาคส่วนในประเทศนิวซีแลนด์โดยเฉพาะภาคธุรกิจ ชุมชนชาวจีนจำนวนมากเหล่านี้ได้ช่วยผลักดันให้เกิดการยอมรับในสินค้า ที่ผลิตในประเทศจีน 

On the 27^th February 2015 at 4.30 pm, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, along with his wife, joined the Chinese New Year celebration hosed by H.E. Dato’ Lim Kim Eng, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to New Zealand, at the residence of the Malaysian High Commissioner. Many other ambassadors and high commissioners from different countries attended the event: namely, H.E. Mr. Ravi Thapar, High Commissioner of India; H.E. Mr. Peter Chan, High Commissioner of Singapore; H.E. Mr. Kalifa Saif Ahmad Al-Mazrooei, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates; and Professor Kim-Shyan Fam from Victoria University of Wellington. On this occasion, the Thai Ambassador used this opportunity to introduce himself to the diplomats, businessmen and scholars for the first time, following his arrival in New Zealand..

Many Chinese nationals have immigrated to New Zealand, thereby gradually spreading its culture and tradition, and it is now widely accepted in many sectors of the country, especially in business. These Chinese communities have also helped promoting Made-in-China products to New Zealand.
