Beginning 1 November 2021, all passengers travelling to Thailand must meet the following requirements: 

1. Who is eligible to enter Thailand?

    - Thai nationals
    - Non-Thai nationals with valid visas or passport holders of visa-exempted countries.

2. Quarantine Requirements

    2.1 Passengers who are not fully vaccinated
                - All unvaccinated passengers are required to undergo a mandatory quarantine at an Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel for at least 10 days upon arrival
                - Passengers who are required to undergo quarantine are required to take 2 COVID-19 tests (RT-PCR) during the 10 days quarantine 
                - All expenses for quarantine and RT-PCR tests are the responsibilities of the passengers 

    2.2 Fully vaccinated passengers
                - Upon arrival in Thailand, all fully vaccinated passengers are required to undergo a mandatory quarantine at the 
Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotels or hotel certified under the "Safety and Health Administration Plus" (SHA+) standard for at least 7 day.
                - Passengers who are required to undergo quarantine are required to take 2 COVID-19 tests (RT-PCR) during the 7 days quarantine 
                - All expenses for quarantine and RT-PCR tests are the responsibilities of the passengers 
 

      SANDBOX PROGRAMME (if travelling from countries that are not eligible for quarantine exemption). Thailand announces reopening of three provinces for tourism under the Sandbox programme. Read more at https://www.tatnews.org/

                - Passengers may enter Thailand without undergoing quarantine but are required to remain within the "Sandbox" province/territory for at least 7 days.
                - Upon arrival in Thailand, passengers must check in at a hotel certified under the "Safety and Health Administration Plus" (SHA+) standard and take a total of 2 COVID-19 test (RT-PCR) at the hotel during the 7-day stay.
                - If tested negative for both RT-PCR tests, travels to other parts of Thailand will be permitted.
                - All arrangements for SHA+ hotels and RT-PCR tests are the responsibilities of the passengers

    * SHA+ Hotels
          - For the list of SHA+ hotels, please visit https://www.thailandsha.com/shalists/
          - Visitors must have a confirmation of SHA+ hotel booking issued under the “SHA+ Booking Authentication System” (SHABA).  The SHABA-issued confirmation, know as the SHABA Certificate, can be obtained from the hotel.

3. Vaccination Requirements

    Passengers travelling under the Quarantine Exemption scheme or the Sandbox Programme must meet the following vaccination requirements:
          - Passengers must have received complete doses of a vaccine that is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) at least 14 days before the date of travel 
          - A confirmation letter of vaccination for international travel issued by the Ministry of Health must be presented as official proof of vaccination - the vaccination appointment card does not qualify as valid proof of vaccination for international travel

          - Minors aged below 12 who have not been vaccinated and are entering Thailand together with their parents (or guardians) will undergo quarantine for the same duration as the parents (or guardians) that they are travelling with   

4. Covid-19 Tests

    4.1 Pre-departure
          - All passengers (except those undergoing quarantine at AQ hotels) must present a negative COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR) issued no more than 72 hours before departure from New Zealand
          - Note: Please check airlines' pre-departure Covid-19 test requirements as some airlines may require that tests results are issued no more than 48 hours before departure.

    4.2 Upon Arrival in Thailand
          - Alternative Quarantine Passengers: Two RT-PCR tests (1st test upon arrival and 2nd test on day 8 or 9)
          - Quarantine Exemption Passengers: One RT-PCR test upon arrival
          - Sandbox Programme Passengers: Two RT-PCR tests (1st test upon arrival and 2nd test on day 6 or 7)

5. Required Documents for Entry to Thailand

    5.1 Thai Nationals
          (1) Valid Thai Passport
          (2) Thailand Pass QR Code *
               (Please register for the QR code at tp.consular.go.th at least 7 days before departure)
          (3) AQ Booking Confirmation Letter or SHABA Certificate
          (4) Negative Covid-19 Test Result (RT-PCR) issued no more than 72 hours before departure (or 48 hours if required by the flight/airline)
          (5) Thai nationals are not required to have a health insurance to enter Thailand

    5.2 Non-Thai Nationals
          (1) Passport with a validity period of at least 6 months (18 months for long-stay visitors)
          (2) Valid Visa (if required) 
          (3) Thailand Pass QR Code *
               (Please register for the QR code at tp.consular.go.th at least 7 days before departure)
          (4) AQ Booking Confirmation Letter or SHABA Certificate 
          (5) Negative Covid-19 Test Result (RT-PCR) issued no more than 72 hours before departure (or 48 hours if required by the flight/airline)
          (6) Medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 50,000 USD, including treatment of COVID-19, for the entire duration of stay in Thailand
          (7) Additional documents may be required for each category of non-Thai nationals entering Thailand (eg. work permit for work visa holders, copy of marriage certificate for spouse visa holders, etc.)
