กิจกรรม Thailand Market Update
เมื่อวันที่ 11 พฤษภาคม 2569 สำนักงานเศรษฐกิจการลงทุน ณ นครซิดนีย์ ร่วมกับสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน และ New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) และ ASEAN New Zealand Business Council (ANZBC) และ New Zealand Thai Chamber of Commerce จัดกิจกรรม Thailand Market Update ที่โรงแรม Sofitel Wellington กรุงเวลลิงตัน เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์ศักยภาพของประเทศไทยในด้านเศรษฐกิจ การค้า และการลงทุนสำหรับภาคธุรกิจนิวซีแลนด์ โดยมีผู้แทนหน่วยงาน ภาคธุรกิจ และวิชาการ เข้าร่วมกว่า 30 คน ทั้งในสถานที่จัดงานและผ่านระบบออนไลน์
นายมงคล วิศิษฏ์สตัมภ์ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้บรรยายภาพรวมความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจไทย – นิวซีแลนด์ ทั้งด้านมูลค่าการค้ากว่า 2,500 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ การเติบโตในภาคการท่องเที่ยว การลงทุน และยังได้ฉายภาพโอกาสทางธุรกิจสำหรับภาคเอกชนนิวซีแลนด์ในการใช้ไทยเป็นฐานขยายธุรกิจไปยังประเทศเพื่อนบ้านและภูมิภาคต่าง ๆ เช่น เอเชียใต้ นอกจากนี้ ยังได้บรรยายถึงความเชื่อมั่นที่มีต่อไทยในการเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุม 2026 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group ด้วย
จากนั้น น.ส. อุษณีย์ ถิ่นเกาะแก้ว ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานเศรษฐกิจการลงทุน ณ นครซิดนีย์ ได้บรรยายในรายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับภาพรวมเศรษฐกิจและนโยบายส่งเสริมการลงทุนในอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมาย และบทบาทของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุนในการอำนวยความสะดวกให้ภาคธุรกิจและนักลงทุนนิวซีแลนด์เข้าไปลงทุนและทำธุรกิจในไทย
กิจกรรม Thailand Market Update ยังได้รับเกียรติจากผู้บรรยายพิเศษ ได้แก่ (1) นายอมฤต เจริญพันธ์ ประธาน New Zealand – Thai Chamber of Commerce (2) Ms. Suzy Fewtrell ตำแหน่ง Trade Commissioner – Malaysia and Thailand, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (3) ศ.ดร. ฐิตินันท์ พงษ์สุทธิรักษ์ คณะรัฐศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (4) ศ.ดร.ภวิดา ปานะนนท์ คณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ (5) Ms. Ashlin Chand ตำแหน่ง Manager – Policy and Trade, Meat Industry Association เข้าร่วมบรรยายและแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับโอกาส ความท้าทาย และแนวทางการปรับตัวเพื่อการทำธุรกิจระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์ในบริบทโลกปัจจุบัน อาทิ สงครามการค้า
กิจกรรม Thailand Market Update เป็นกิจกรรมที่จัดต่อเนื่องจาก Thailand-New Zealand Business Roundtable Discussion เมื่อวันที่ 24 มีนาคม 2569 ที่นครโอ๊คแลนด์ ซึ่งสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ บูรณาการร่วมกับหน่วยงานทีมประเทศไทยเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์ในภาคเอกชน ในโอกาสการเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 70 ปี ความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์
The Thailand Market Update
On 11 May 2026, the Thailand Board of Investment – Sydney Office, in cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy in Wellington, the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the ASEAN New Zealand Business Council (ANZBC), and New Zealand Thai Chamber of Commerce, organized the business discussion “Thailand Market Update” at Sofitel Wellington Hotel. The event aimed to showcase Thailand’s economic potential and trade and investment opportunities for New Zealand businesses. The event was attended by more than 30 representatives from New Zealand agencies and private sector, both on-site and online.
On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, delivered remarks highlighting economic ties between Thailand and New Zealand, including bilateral trade valued more than USD 2.5 billion and growth in tourism and investment sectors. Moreover, the Ambassador also highlighted trade opportunities to use Thailand as a hub for market access into neighboring countries and other regions, such as South Asia. The Ambassador expressed confidence in Thailand as the host country for the “2026 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group.” Ms. Usanee Thinkohkaew, Director of the Thailand Board of Investment – Sydney Office, then provided a detailed presentation on Thailand’s investment promotion in targeted industries, and the role of the Board of Investment (BOI) in facilitating New Zealand companies and investors conducting business in Thailand.
Several guest speakers also attended the “Thailand Market Update”, including (1) Mr. Amarit Charoenphan, President of the New Zealand Thai Chamber of Commerce; (2) Ms. Suzy Fewtrell, Trade Commissioner for Malaysia and Thailand, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise; (3) Prof. Dr. Thitinan Pongsudhirak, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University; (4) Prof. Dr. Pavida Pananond, Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University; and (5) Ms. Ashlin Chand, Manager – Policy and Trade, Meat Industry Association. The speakers exchanged views and insights regarding opportunities, challenges, and the way forward for conducting business in the current global context, including the ongoing trade war.
The “Thailand Market Update” was a follow-up event to the “Thailand–New Zealand Business Roundtable Discussion” held on 24 March 2026 in Auckland. These activities were organized through collaboration between the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand to promote Thailand–New Zealand relations across the business sector as part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
