ระหว่างวันที่ ๒-๕ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๘ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน และเอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำประเทศหมู่เกาะคุก ได้เดินทางเยือนประเทศหมู่เกาะคุก ในฐานะผู้แทนนายกรัฐมนตรี เพื่อเข้าร่วมงานเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ ๖๐ ปี การปกครองตนเองของประเทศหมู่เกาะคุก ซึ่งมี ผู้นำ รัฐมนตรีและ คณะผู้แทนจากประเทศต่างๆ เข้าร่วมมากกว่า ๕๐ ประเทศ การนี้ นางกรรณมนต์ เสนาณรงค์ อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษาได้ร่วมเดินทางไปด้วย
ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เข้าพบหารือทวิภาคีกับนาย Tingika Elikana รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและตรวจคนเข้าเมืองหมู่เกาะคุก พร้อมด้วยนาย Tukaka Ama รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและตรวจคนเข้าเมืองหมู่เกาะคุก ซึ่งทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องที่จะกระชับความสัมพันธ์ไทย-หมู่เกาะคุกให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น ในหลากหลายด้าน โดยเฉพาะความร่วมมือด้านการแพทย์ การสาธารณสุข การท่องเที่ยว และการเกษตร เป็นต้น
On 2-5 August 2025 Mr Waravuth Pouapinya, Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand and to the Cook Islands, visited the Cook Islands as the representative of the Prime Minister of Thailand to attend the Commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Self-Governance of the Cook Islands, where a number of leaders, ministers and representatives from different countries attending this auspicious event.
On this opportunity, the Thai Ambassador had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr Tingika Elikana, Foreign Minister of the Cook Islands, together with H.E. Mr Tukaka Ama, Associate Foreign Minister of the Cook Islands. Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations in such diverse fields as medical cooperation, tourism and agriculture, in particular.
