เมื่อวันที่ 18 มีนาคม 2569 นายมงคล วิศิษฏ์สตัมภ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะ ฯพณฯ Afamasaga Fa’amatalaupu Toleafoa ข้าหลวงใหญ่ซามัวประจำนิวซีแลนด์ เพื่อแนะนำตัวในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่เอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำรัฐเอกราชซามัว
ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือแนวทางการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง ไทย - ซามัว อย่างรอบด้าน โดยเฉพาะความร่วมมือด้านสาธารณสุข การศึกษา และการฝึกอบรม สิ่งแวดล้อม และการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน รวมทั้งความร่วมมือบนพื้นฐานของ 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent ในฐานะที่ไทยเป็นประเทศคู่เจรจา / ประเทศร่วมมือรายสาขาในกรอบการประชุมหมู่เกาะแปซิฟิก (Pacific Islands Forum - PIF) ซึ่งซามัวเป็นหนึ่งในประเทศสมาชิกผู้ก่อตั้ง
On 18 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador-designate, made a courtesy call on H.E. Afamasaga Fa’amatalaupu Toleafoa, High Commissioner of Samoa to New Zealand, to introduce himself on the occasion of assuming duties as the Thai Ambassador to the Independent State of Samoa.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to comprehensively strengthen Thailand – Samoa relations, particularly in areas of healthcare and medical service, education and training, environment and sustainable development, as well as those aligned with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent. This is in light of Thailand’s role as a Dialogue / Sectoral Partner of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), of which Samoa is one of the founding members.
