พิธี Koroneihana จัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี ในปีนี้จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 2– 6 กันยายน 2569 โดยมีความสำคัญหลายประการ คือ เฉลิมฉลองการสืบบัลลังก์ของราชวงศ์เมารี รำลึกถึงผู้ล่วงลับในช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา (Kawe Mate) และเฉลิมฉลองความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกัน (kotahitanga) ของชาวเมารี ในปีนี้ มีผู้แทนราชวงศ์และผู้นำชุมชนจากหมู่เกาะแปซิฟิกต่าง ๆ ตลอดจนประชาชนหลายพันคนเข้าร่วมพิธี

 

On 4 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand, and Mrs. Dang Thi Thu Ha, spouse, together with officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Wellington, attended the Koroneihana 2026 celebrations at Tūrangawaewae Marae in Hamilton. The Ambassador joined members of the Diplomatic Corps in extending congratulations and best wishes to the Māori Queen in honour of the Koroneihana, which this year marked the second anniversary of the accession to the Māori throne.

 

The Koroneihana ceremony is held annually. This year, it took place from 2 to 6 September 2026. The ceremony serves several important purposes, including celebrating the accession of the Māori monarch, commemorating those who have passed away over the past year through the Kawe Mate ceremony, and celebrating kotahitanga (unity) among Māori. This year’s event was attended by representatives of royal families and community leaders from across the Pacific Islands, as well as several thousand members of the public.
