งานเลี้ยงรับรองเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ ๗๐ ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย-นิวซีแลนด์
เมื่อวันที่ ๑๒ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๙ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้จัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองในวาระครบรอบ ๗๐ ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย-นิวซีแลนด์ ณ Grand Hall รัฐสภานิวซีแลนด์ กรุงเวลลิงตัน โดยมี Right Honourable Winston Peters รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเข้าร่วม และ H.E. Mr. Grahame Morton รองปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้านิวซีแลนด์เป็นแขกเกียรติยศ และมีรัฐมนตรี สมาชิกรัฐสภานิวซีแลนด์ คณะทูตและข้าหลวงใหญ่ หน่วยงานทีมประเทศไทย ผู้แทนจากภาคเอกชนและภาควิชาการ รวมกว่า ๒๐๐ คนเข้าร่วม
นายมงคล วิศิษฏ์สตัมภ์ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์ถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์ที่มีมายาวนานกว่า ๗ ทศวรรษ มีการเสด็จเยือนของพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘-๒๖ สิงหาคม ๒๕๐๕ มีการแลกเปลี่ยนการเยือนระดับสูง มีความร่วมมือที่รอบด้านทั้งระดับทวิภาคี ระดับภูมิภาคเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก และความร่วมมือในเวทีโลก นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองประเทศจะยกระดับความสัมพันธ์เป็นหุ้นส่วนยุทธศาสตร์ (Strategic Partnership) ในปีนี้ และมีเป้าหมายร่วมกันที่จะเพิ่มพูนการค้าเป็น ๓ เท่าภายในปี ๒๕๘๘ นอกจากนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ยังได้ขอบคุณรัฐบาลนิวซีแลนด์ที่ได้เพิ่มทุนการศึกษา Manaaki Scholarship จาก ๔ ทุนเป็น ๓๙ ทุนในช่วง ๒ ปีนี้ด้วย
H.E. Mr. Grahame Morton รองปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้านิวซีแลนด์ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์ว่า ไทยเป็นมิตรประเทศที่มีความสำคัญทางยุทธศาสตร์ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และมีความร่วมมือรอบด้านครอบคลุมทั้งด้านความมั่นคง เศรษฐกิจ วัฒนธรรมและความสัมพันธ์ระดับประชาชน นอกจากนี้ ไทยและนิวซีแลนด์ยังได้บรรลุแผนปฏิบัติการร่วม Joint Plan of Action for the Thailand-New Zealand Strategic Partnership 2026-2030 เพื่อเป็นแนวทางความร่วมมือในอนาคตท่ามกลางบริบทโลกที่ผันผวนอีกด้วย ที่สำคัญ นิวซีแลนด์และไทยมีความร่วมมือแบบหุ้นส่วนเพื่อการพัฒนาที่ประสบผลสำเร็จเป็นรูปธรรมในการก่อตั้งสถาบันความร่วมมือเพื่อพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจลุ่มน้ำโขง (Mekong Institute) ซึ่งก่อตั้งเมื่อปี ๒๕๓๙ และนิวซีแลนด์ยังมีบทบาทให้การสนับสนุนอย่างแข็งขันจนถึงปัจจุบัน
ภายในงาน มีการแสดง Kapa Haka โดยคณะนักเรียนโรงเรียน Kapiti College และการแสดงโขนในชุด “มรดกนาฏกรรมไทย” โดยคณะนาฏศิลป์จากกระทรวงวัฒนธรรม ซึ่งเดินทางมายังนิวซีแลนด์เพื่อจัดกิจกรรม Cultural Roadshow เฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ ๗๐ ปี นอกจากนี้ ยังมีกิจกรรมการเปิดตัวตราสัญลักษณ์ครบรอบ ๗๐ ปีจากกิจกรรมการแข่งขันประกวดออกแบบตราสัญลักษณ์ โดยมีผู้ชนะการแข่งขัน คือ นายอนุสรณ์ ทองประสาน นักออกแบบจากกรุงเทพมหานคร และกิจกรรม Mini Talk ในหัวข้อ Bridging Oceans, Building the Future: Thailand and New Zealand at 70 โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก ศ.ดร. ฐิตินันท์ พงษ์สุทธิรักษ์ จากคณะรัฐศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ศ.ดร.ภวิดา ปานะนนท์ จากคณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ และ Ms. Suzannah Jessep ประธานบริหารมูลนิธิ Asia New Zealand Foundation เป็นผู้เสวนา
นอกจากนี้ ภายในงานยังมีบูธเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมโขน การสาธิตแกะสลักผลไม้ นิทรรศการความสัมพันธ์ทางวัฒนธรรมชาวไทยทรงดำ-ชาวเมารี และบูธประชาสัมพันธ์ศักยภาพของประเทศไทยในด้านการเกษตร การค้าและการลงทุนโดยหน่วยงานทีมประเทศไทยด้วย
Reception celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and New Zealand
On 12 May 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted a reception celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and New Zealand at Grand Hall, Parliament House, Wellington. The reception was attended by H.E. Mr. Grahame Morton, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as Guest of Honour. On this auspicious occasion, the Right Honourable Winston Peters, Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with more than 200 distinguished guests – including Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and representatives from Team Thailand, the private sector, and academics – also attended the event.
H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, delivered remarks celebrating the seven decades of profound relationships between Thailand and New Zealand, highlighted by the historic Royal Visit of Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother during 18-26 August 1962. The long-standing relationship was also reflected in exchange of high-level visits and comprehensive cooperation at bilateral, regional, and multilateral levels. The Ambassador also acknowledged the vision of both countries to elevate diplomatic ties to a Strategic Partnership this year, with a mutual goal to triple two-way trade by 2045. The Ambassador also expressed sincere appreciation to New Zealand for increasing the “Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship” for Thai students from 4 to 39 scholarships in 2026-2027.
H.E. Mr. Grahame Morton delivered remarks emphasizing Thailand as New Zealand’s anchor partner in the Southeast Asian region, highlighting the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation including security, economy, culture, and people-to-people connections. The Deputy Secretary also acknowledged the “Joint Plan of Action for the Thailand-New Zealand Strategic Partnership 2026-2030”, which will serve as a framework for future cooperation in the increasingly complex global landscape. Moreover, the two countries also have a successful cooperation in the establishment of the “Mekong Institute” in 1996, which New Zealand has actively continued to support.
The reception featured the Kapa Haka performances by students from Kapiti College and the Khon traditional performances entitled “The Heritage of Thai Classical Dance” by the cultural troupe from Ministry of Culture of Thailand, who travelled to New Zealand for the cultural roadshow to celebrate the auspicious 70th anniversary occasion. In addition, the event also included the official launch of the 70th anniversary logo, which was created by Mr. Anusorn Thongprasan, the graphic designer from Bangkok and the winner of the logo design competition. The activities then followed by the mini talk entitled “Bridging Oceans, Building the Future: Thailand and New Zealand at 70”, featuring distinguished speakers Professor Dr. Thitinan Pongsudhirak from the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, Professor Dr. Pavida Pananond from Thammasat Business School, Thammasat University, and Ms. Suzannah Jessep, Chief Executive of the Asia New Zealand Foundation.
The reception also featured exhibitions showcasing Thai arts and culture, Khon masks, fruit carving demonstrations, and an exhibition on the cultural connections between the Thai Song Dam and the Māori people. There were also exhibitions promoting Thailand’s strengths in agriculture, trade, and investment by Team Thailand agencies.
