เมื่อวันที่ 23 มีนาคม 2558 เวลา 10.30 น. นางก่อกาญจน์ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ ภริยาทูตไทยประจำประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ ได้เข้าร่วมงานของสมาคมสตรีอาเซียน (ASEAN Ladies’ Circle) ที่จัดขึ้น ณ สถานทูตอินโดนีเซียประจำนิวซีแลนด์ เพื่อส่งเสริมประชาสัมพันธ์วัฒนธรรม และสร้างความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับ ASEAN ในหมู่ประชาชนชาวนิวซีแลนด์ และในชุมชนต่างชาติอื่นๆ ภริยาเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้นำกลุ่มผู้นำสตรีของชุมชนไทยเข้าร่วมงานฯ พร้อมกับการจัดทำอาหารไทยได้แก่ข้าวแกงเขียวหวานไก่ และขนมตะโก้ ให้ชาวนิวซีแลนด์ และผู้แทนจากสมาคม และชุมชนต่างๆ ได้รับประทาน จนปรากฏผลเป็นที่ชื่นชอบอย่างมาก งานของสมาคมสตรีอาเซียนครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นต่อเนื่องจากความสำเร็จของงาน ASEAN Night Market      ที่คณะกรรมการอาเซียน ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน (ASEAN Committee in Wellington) ร่วมกับ Asia New Zealand Foundation, Wellington City Council และชุมชนอาเซียนในนิวซีแลนด์ จัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 13 มีนาคม 2558 ที่ผ่านมา นอกจากจะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการร่วมเฉลิมฉลองการครบรอบความสัมพันธ์ 40 ปี อาเซียน-นิวซีแลนด์แล้ว การจัดงานดังกล่าวยังช่วยสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับอาหารและวัฒนธรรมอาเซียนเพื่อเตรียมตัวต้อนรับการเป็นประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน (ASEAN Economic Community 2015) ในปลายปี 2015 ด้วย

On 23 March 2015 at 10.30 am, Mrs. Kokan Sangiampongsa, spouse of the Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, attended ASEAN Ladies’ Circle (ALC) event at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, which promotes cultural ties and raise awareness about ASEAN among New Zealanders. Communities of other nationals, leading women from Thai community in Wellington and Mrs. Sangiampongsa also produced and shared with other participants Thai dishes at the event, namely chicken green curry and Kanom Tako (a Thai pudding with coconut topping), to many guests’ delight. The ALC luncheon was organised following the success of ASEAN Night Market jointly organised by Wellington City Council, Asia New Zealand Foundation, ASEAN Committee in Wellington (AWC) and various ASEAN communities residing in the capital city on the 12^th March 2015. A part of the series of celebrations of the 40^th Anniversary of New Zealand-ASEAN relations, this ALC event also raised better awareness and understanding of the diverse culture and cuisine of ASEAN in preparation for the ASEAN Economic Community 2015 towards the end of this year.
