เมื่อวันที่ ๓๐ มีนาคม ๒๕๖๘ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการและเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกีฬาสี ประจำปี ๒๕๖๘ ของสมาคมคนไทยในกรุงเวลลิงตัน ณ บอยด์ วิลสัน อารีน่า มหาวิทยาลัยวิกตอเรีย ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ โดยได้รับความร่วมมือจากสมาคมคนไทยในกรุงเวลลิงตันและชมรมนักศึกษาไทยมหาวิทยาลัยวิคตอเรีย
ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัคราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวเปิดกิจกรรมกีฬาสี จากนั้น ครูเชนทร์มวยไทยนำเต้นแอโรบิก ซึ่งเป็นการผสมผสานศิลปะมวยไทยกับการออกกำลังกายสมัยใหม่ เพื่อเตรียมร่างกายให้พร้อมก่อนการแข่งขันกีฬา โดยกีฬาที่แข่งขั้นในครั้งนี้ ประกอบด้วย แชร์บอล ฟุตบอล วิ่งผลัดเปลี่ยนชุด วิ่งสามขา และเหยียบลูกโป่ง รวมถึงการแข่งขันกองเชียร์ โดยในช่วงท้ายกิจกรรม นางกรรณมน เสนาณรงค์ อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษา ผู้แทนเอกอัครราชทูตฯ มอบถ้วยรางวัล Ambassador’s Cup แก่ทีมผู้ชนะเลิศและมอบรางวัลพิเศษต่าง ๆ เพื่อเป็นกำลังใจแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมแข่งขันทุกทีม กิจกรรมครั้งนี้ มีชุมชนไทยและครอบครัว เข้าร่วมกว่า ๑๐๐ คน
On 30 March 2025, Ambassador Waravuth Pouapinya, along with the Embassy staff participated in the Wellington Thai Community's Thai Community Sports Day 2025 at the Boyd Wilson Arena, Victoria University, New Zealand. This event was organized in collaboration with the Thai Students' Association, Victoria University.
The Ambassador presided over the opening ceremony. The activities began with Kru Chain Muay Thai leading an aerobics dance session, which combined the art of Muay Thai with modern exercise. The sports day featured various competitions, including chair ball, football, relay race with outfit changes, three-legged race, balloon-stomping games, and cheerleading competitions. At the end of the event, Ms. Kanamon Senanarong, Minister-Counsellor and representative of the Ambassador, presented the Ambassador’s Cup to the winning team and awards to all teams. More than 100 Thais and families attended this event.
