เมื่อวันที่ ๙ มีนาคม ๒๕๖๙ นายมงคล วิศิษฏ์สตัมภ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เข้าร่วมพิธีเปิดงานสัมมนาด้านการบริหารจัดการภัยพิบัติระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์ "Partnerships Across the Pacific Ocean: From Thailand to Poneke โดยเป็นความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่าง ๓ สถาบัน ได้แก่ ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ University of Otago (Wellington Campus) และ Massey University 

คณะสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้รับการต้อนรับจาก Professor William Levack คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ และ Head of Campus, University of Otago (Wellington Campus) และ Associate Professor Lesley Gray ศูนย์วิจัยร่วมด้านภัยพิบัติ (Joint Centre for Disaster Research) Massey University ในโอกาสนี้ 

นางกรรณมน เสนาณรงค์ อุปทูต รักษาราชการแทน เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้กล่าวในนามสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ แสดงความยินดีที่สถาบันวิชาการทั้งสามได้ร่วมมือกันจัดงานสัมมนาขึ้น เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ เสริมสร้างเครือข่าย และ

ส่งเสริมต่อยอดงานวิจัยด้านการบริหารจัดการภัยพิบัติ ซึ่งทั้งไทยและนิวซีแลนด์ตั้งอยู่ในภูมิภาคที่มีความเสี่ยงต่อภัยธรรมชาติ สามารถเรียนรู้จากกันและกันมากขึ้น อีกทั้งเป็นกิจกรรมสำคัญที่ส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ะดับประชาชน ในโอกาสเฉลิมฉลองความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย - นิวซีแลนด์ ครบรอบ ๗๐ ปีในปีนี้ 

นอกจากนี้ นาย Joseph Mayhew ตำแหน่ง Unit Manager, South and South East Asia Division ผู้แทนจากกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้านิวซีแลนด์ และศาสตราจารย์แพทย์หญิง ยุวเรศมคฐ์ สิทธิชาญบัญชา รักษาการรองเลขาธิการราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ ได้กล่าวในช่วงพิธีเปิดด้วย

๕. ดร. ชญานี วงศ์สุริยนันท์ นักวิจัย ศูนย์แพทย์ภัยพิบัติและฉุกเฉิน 

On 9 March 2026, Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to New Zealand, along with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the Opening Ceremony of the Disaster and Emergency Management Symposium between Thailand and New Zealand titled “Partnerships Across the Pacific Ocean: From Thailand to Pōneke.” The seminar is an academic collaboration among three institutions: Chulabhorn Royal Academy, University of Otago (Wellington Campus), and Massey University.

The Embassy delegation was welcomed by Professor William Levack, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Head of Campus at the University of Otago (Wellington Campus), and Associate Professor Lesley Gray from the Joint Centre for Disaster Research at Massey University. On this occasion, Mrs. Kanamon Senanarong, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, delivered remarks on behalf of the Embassy, expressing appreciation that the three academic institutions had collaborated to organize the seminar in order to exchange knowledge, strengthen networks, and promote further research on this field. Both Thailand and New Zealand are situated in regions susceptible to natural disasters, enabling them to learn more from each other. The seminar also fosters people-to-people connections as part of this year's celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and New Zealand.

In addition, Mr. Joseph Mayhew, Unit Manager of the South and South East Asia Division representing New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Professor Dr. Yuwares Sitthichanbuncha, Acting Deputy Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, also delivered remarks during the opening ceremony.
