เมื่อวันที่ ๒๔ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๘ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมด้วยพระครูพุทธิญาณวิเทศ วิ. แอนดริว (ฉายา ญาณทีโป) ผู้แทนมูลนิธิพระไตรปิฎกสากลได้จัดพิธีมอบพระไตรปิฎกสากลฉบับสัชฌายะ ชุด ภ.ป.ร. และชุด ส.ก. พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๙ แด่ Her Excellency The Right Honourable Dame Alcyion Cynthia Kiro ผู้สำเร็จราชการแทนพระองค์สมเด็จพระเจ้าชาลส์ที่ ๓ ซึ่งเป็นประมุขของประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ พร้อมด้วย
His Excellency Dr. Richard Davies คู่สมรสของผู้สำเร็จราชการฯ ณ ห้อง Brundell ภายในทำเนียบผู้สำเร็จราชการฯ กรุงเวลลิงตัน โดยมีคณะสงฆ์ ๘ รูปจากวัดไทยทั่วประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ ข้าราชการและเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูต และผู้แทนชุมชนไทยในประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ รวมทั้งสิ้น ๔๐ คน เข้าร่วม

การเผยแพร่พระไตรปิฎกในมิติวิชาการและหลักปรัชญาไปยังนานาประเทศเป็นพระราชปณิธานของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ในการทำนุบำรุงพระพุทธศาสนาให้มั่นคงยั่งยืน ซึ่งรวมถึง “โครงการเผยแผ่พระไตรปิฎกสากล ฉบับสัชฌายะ ชุด ภ.ป.ร. และชุด ส.ก. พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๙” ที่อัญเชิญขึ้นทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายแด่พระประมุข จำนวน ๕ ประเทศ และการมอบให้แก่หอสมุดและสถาบันวิชาการ รวมกว่า ๓๐ ประเทศ  ในประเทศที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ได้เคยเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนอย่างเป็นทางการ ซึ่งรวมถึงประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ที่ได้เสด็จฯเยือนในระหว่างวันที่ ๑๘-๒๖ สิงหาคม ๒๕๐๕ (ค.ศ. ๑๙๖๒)  ทั้งนี้ การอัญเชิญพระไตรปิฎกสากลฯ มอบให้แด่ผู้สำเร็จราชการแทนพระองค์ฯ ในครั้งนี้ อาจถือเป็นปฐมฤกษ์ของการเริ่มเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ ๗๐ ปี ความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างประเทศไทยกับประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ในปี ๒๕๖๙ และเป็นของขวัญที่ประชาชนชาวไทยมอบให้แก่ประชาชนชาวนิวซีแลนด์ด้วย              

โอกาสนี้ Her Excellency The Right Honourable Dame Alcyion Cynthia Kiro ผู้สำเร็จราชการฯ ได้แสดงความขอบคุณรัฐบาลไทยและมูลนิธิพระไตรปิฎกสากลในนามของประชาชนชาวนิวซีแลนด์ ซึ่งพระไตรปิฎกสากลฯ เป็นของขวัญล้ำค่าแสดงถึงความสัมพันธ์ฉันมิตรระหว่างสองประเทศ โดยปัจจุบันพระพุทธศาสนาได้เจริญรุ่งเรืองในประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ มีชาวนิวซีแลนด์นับถือศาสนาพุทธมากเป็นลำดับที่ ๓ ของประเทศ ตามหลักธรรมของพระพุทธศาสนาที่ได้ขัดเกลาจิตใจให้มวลมนุษย์มีความเอื้ออาทรต่อกันมายาวนานกว่า ๒,๕๐๐ ปี และจะยังคงเสริมสร้างสันติสุขให้แก่มวลมนุษย์ผ่านการมีสติระลึกรู้ต่อไปในอนาคต

พระไตรปิฎกสากล ฉบับสัชฌายะ จัดพิมพ์เป็นครั้งแรกเมื่อปี ๒๕๕๙ เป็นผลงานนวัตกรรมในทางภาษาศาสตร์ ดุริยางคศาสตร์ และวิศวกรรมคอมพิวเตอร์ที่ทรงคุณค่า โดยชุด ภ.ป.ร. นำเสนอด้วยสัททสัญลักษณ์ (เครื่องหมายแทนเสียงในภาษาต่าง ๆ) สยาม-ปาฬิ (Syam-Pali Phonetic Symbols) และชุด ส.ก. นำเสนอโดยโน้ตเสียงปาฬิ (Pali Monotone Music Notation) เพื่อจังหวะการออกเสียงที่แม่นยำ  โดยกระทรวงการต่างประเทศไทยได้ร่วมกับมูลนิธิพระไตรปิฎกสากล อัญเชิญพระไตรปิฎกสากลฯ ดังกล่าว ไปเผยแพร่ยังนานาประเทศ เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว เนื่องในโอกาสพระราชพิธีมหามงคลเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา ๖ รอบ ๒๘ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๗ ตลอดจนเพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับนานาประเทศ

The Presentation Ceremony of the World Tipitaka Saj-jha-ya Phonetic Recitation to the Governor General of New Zealand on the auspicious occasion of the 6^th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand on 28 July 2024

 On 24 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Warawuth Phuapinya, Ambassador of Thailand and Phra Kru Puttayanwithet (Andrew Yanadipo), representative of the World Tipitaka Foundation, organised the Presentation Ceremony of the “World Tipitaka Saj-jha-ya Phonetic Recitation “King Bhumibol Adulyadej” and “Queen Sirikit” Commemorative 2016 Edition to H.E. the Rt. Hon. Dame Alcyion Cynthia Kiro, Governor-General of New Zealand, and H.E. Dr. Richard Davies, at the Brundell Room, Government House, Wellington. The ceremony was attended by respectful venerables from Thai Buddhist monasteries in New Zealand, the officials of the Royal Thai Embassy, and representatives of the Thai communities in New Zealand.

The preservation and presentation of the Tipitaka’s philosophy to the global community are Thailand’s commitment, under the guidance of the Royal Wish of His Majesty the King, as the prominent patron of Buddhism in Thailand. This includes the presentation of “World Tipitaka Saj-jha-ha Phonetic Recitation 2016 Edition” to Head of States in 5 countries, and to academic institutions in more than 30 countries, where His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother have paid the Royal State Visit, including the Royal State Visit of Their Majesties in New Zealand during 18-26 August 1962.

In this occasion, H.E. the Rt. Hon. Dame Alcyion Cynthia Kiro extended sincere appreciation to the Royal Thai Government and the World Tipitaka Foundation on behalf of the New Zealand people for the Tipitaka Saj-jha-ya, which is an invaluable gift symbolizing the friendship between the two countries where Buddhism is the 3^rd most adopted in New Zealand. The wisdoms of Buddhism have cultivated compassion among humanity for more than 2,500 years and will continue to inspire peoples to show kindness and generosity in a state of mindfulness, especially for the people of
New Zealand.

The World Tipitaka Saj-jha-ya Phonetic Recitation Editions were first published in 2016 as an innovative work in linguistics, musicology, and computer engineering. The "King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Edition" is presented with Syam-Pali Phonetic Symbols, and the "Queen Sirikit’s Edition" is presented with Pali Monotone Music Notation for precise pronunciation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in collaboration with the World Tipitaka Foundation, has disseminated these editions to various countries to honour His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His 6^th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2024 and to promote relations between Thailand and other countries.
