เมื่อวันที่ 23 กันยายน 2569 เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมคณะกรรมการอาเซียน ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน (ASEAN Committee in Wellington: ACW) ครั้งที่ 2/2026 ประกอบด้วยเอกอัครราชทูต และอุปทูตฯ จากกลุ่มประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน 7 ประเทศ ที่ประจำอยู่ ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้แก่ อินโดนีเซีย มาเลเซีย ฟิลิปปินส์ สิงคโปร์ ไทย ติมอร์เลสเต และเวียดนาม โดยมีข้าหลวงใหญ่มาเลเซียประจำนิวซีแลนด์เป็นประธาน

ที่ประชุมได้หารือเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการส่งเสริมความตระหนักรู้เรื่องอาเซียนในนิวซีแลนด์ เช่นลู่ทางการตั้ง ASEAN Centre หรือ ASEAN Corner รวมถึงการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกันในช่วงครึ่งหลังของปี 2569 ทั้งนี้ ภายหลังเสร็จสิ้นการประชุม คณะกรรมการอาเซียน ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพการหารือระหว่างมื้ออาหารกลางวันร่วมกับกรม Asia Regional Division กระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้านิวซีแลนด์ เพื่อกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างอาเซียนกับนิวซีแลนด์

การประชุมคณะกรรมการอาเซียน ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน จัดขึ้นเพื่อเป็นกลไกการหารือและแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลข่าวสาร รวมถึงการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกันในนามอาเซียน ซึ่งช่วยส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ สร้างความตระหนักรู้ และเพิ่มพูนปฏิสัมพันธ์ที่มากขึ้นระหว่างกลุ่มประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนกับหน่วยงานและสาธารณชนนิวซีแลนด์

 

The Ambassador of Thailand attended the 2nd/2026 ASEAN Committee in Wellington (ACW) meeting

On 23 September 2026, the Ambassador of Thailand attended the 2nd meeting of ASEAN Committee in Wellington (ACW) for 2026, which comprised Heads of Mission and Charge d'Affaires, a.i., from ASEAN diplomatic missions accredited to Wellington, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam The meeting was chaired by the High Commissioner of Malaysia.

 

The meeting discussed opportunities to promote ASEAN to the New Zealand public including the potential establishment of the ASEAN Centre or ASEAN Corner. The meeting also discussed for further ACW activities for the second half of 2026. Following the meeting, the ACW hosted a working lunch with the Asia Regional Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to strengthen relations and foster networking between ASEAN and New Zealand.

 

The ACW serves as a mechanism for ASEAN diplomatic missions for regular consultation as well as organising ASEAN-related activities and projects, aiming to raise awareness and strengthen interactions between ASEAN and New Zealand’s agencies and the general public.
