เมื่อวันที่ 23 มิถุนายน 2569 นายมงคล วิศิษฏ์สตัมภ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน และนางดั่ง ถิ ทู ฮ่า ภริยา พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้พบหารือกับนางสาว Leeann Watson ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร(Chief Executive Officer) สำนักงานหอการค้า Business Canterbury ณ เมืองไครสต์เชิร์ซ

โอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้แจ้งถึงแผนการดำเนินโครงการของสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ในการจัดกิจกรรมด้านเศรษฐกิจและวัฒนธรรมไทยในอนาคต เช่น Thai Food Festival in Christchurch เพื่อเผยแพร่อาหารและศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย ตลอดจนส่งเสริมความเข้าใจอันดีระหว่างประชาชนของไทยและนิวซีแลนด์ โดยได้รับความสนใจและการสนับสนุนจากนางสาว Leeann Watson ซึ่งแสดงความพร้อมที่จะประสานความร่วมมือกับภาคธุรกิจและหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องในพื้นที่ เพื่อให้กิจกรรมดังกล่าวประสบความสำเร็จและเกิดประโยชน์ต่อการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับภูมิภาคแคนเทอร์เบอรีต่อไป

 

On 23 June 2026, H.E. Ambassador Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand, and Mrs. Dang Thi Thu Ha, spouse of Ambassador, together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, met with Ms. Leeann Watson, Chief Executive Officer of Business Canterbury Chamber, in Christchurch.

 

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the areas of economic relations, trade, investment, and support for the Thai business community in Christchurch and the Canterbury region. Discussions focused on fostering connections between Thai entrepreneurs and the local business sector to create greater trade and investment opportunities, while enhancing the capacity and competitiveness of Thai businesses in New Zealand.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador also shared the Embassy's plans to organise future Thai economic and cultural activities i.e. Thai Food Festival in Christchurch, aimed at promoting Thailand's food, rich arts and cultural heritage, as well as fostering mutual understanding and people-to-people ties between Thailand and New Zealand. Ms. Watson welcomed the initiative and expressed her strong support, affirming Business Canterbury's readiness to facilitate collaboration with the local business community and relevant organisations to help ensure the success of these activities and further strengthen the relationship between Thailand and Canterbury.
