เมื่อวันที่ ๑๕ กุมภาพันธ์ ๒๕๖๗ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูตได้พบหารือกับ Ms. Elizabeth Bell ตำแหน่ง Executive Director สภาธุรกิจอาเซียน - นซ. (ASEAN – New Zealand Business Council – ANZBC) ณ ที่ทำการสถานเอกอัครราชทูต เพื่อทำความรู้จักและหารือเกี่ยวกับกิจกรรมที่จะสามารถดำเนินร่วมกันระหว่างสถานเอกอัครราชทูตกับ ANZBC ในปี ๒๕๖๗

สภาธุรกิจอาเซียน - นซ. (ASEAN New Zealand Business Council – ANZBC) เป็นสำนักเลขาธิการ (Secretariat) ของสภาธุรกิจนิวซีแลนด์ – ประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียน ๑๐ ปท. (ASEAN Business Alliance - ABA) ตั้งอยู่ ณ นครโอ๊คแลนด์ โดยเป็นองค์กรที่จัดตั้งขึ้นเพื่อเสริมสร้างเครือข่ายนักธุรกิจ ให้ข้อมูลทางธุรกิจและตลาดแก่สมาชิกองค์กร และให้ความช่วยเหลือและสนับสนุนสมาชิกในการขยายการค้าการลงทุนระหว่างนิวซีแลนด์ - อาเซียน นอกจากนี้ ANZBC เป็นผู้แทนของนิวซีแลนด์ในการประชุม ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) และมีการรายงานข้อมูลข้อเสนอแนะไปยังระดับรัฐมนตรีอาเซียนด้วย

เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เสนอที่จะร่วมมือกับ ANZBC ในการจัดกิจกรรมสัมมนา Market Update ของประเทศไทย เพื่อให้ข้อมูลด้านศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจและสภาพตลาดการค้า การลงทุนในประเทศไทยแก่นักธุรกิจนิวซีแลนด์ โดยคาดว่าจะจัดการสัมมนาขึ้นในช่วงครึ่งปีหลังของปี ๒๕๖๗ นอกจากนี้ จะประสานงานด้านการจับคู่ทางธุรกิจ เมื่อมีการเยือนระหว่างคณะนักธุรกิจจากทั้งสองประเทศ เพื่อขยายการค้าการลงทุนระหว่างไทย – นิวซีแลนด์ ต่อไปด้วย

On 15 February 2024, Ambassador Waravuth Pouapinya met with Ms. Elizabeth Bell, Executive Director of the ASEAN – New Zealand Business Council (ANZBC) at the Royal Thai Embassy to discuss on future cooperation between the two organizations for the upcoming year.

ANZBC is the Secretariat for the ASEAN Business Alliance (ABA), a network of all New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in the ASEAN region, providing its members with connections in regional market and localized business knowledge. ANZBC is also New Zealand’s representative at the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) meetings. ABAC Working Group meetings are run by business experts throughout the year, with reports sent to Ministers for their consideration and action.

The Royal Thai Embassy expressed interest in cooperating with ANZBC to organize a Market Update event in the latter half of the year, which will include Thailand’s economy and information for those seeking to expand trade and investment into the country. Business matching between visiting delegations of both countries were also mentioned as a possible area of cooperation.
