เมื่อวันที่ 22  มีนาคม 2569 นายมงคล วิศิษฏ์สตัมภ์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน และภริยา พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการและเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกีฬาสี ประจำปี 2569 จัดโดยสมาคมคนไทยในกรุงเวลลิงตัน ณ Hataitai Netball Pavilion กรุงเวลลิงตัน โดยได้รับความร่วมมือชมรมนักศึกษาไทยจากมหาวิทยาลัยวิคตอเรียแห่ง เวลลิงตัน

ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัคราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวเปิดกิจกรรมกีฬาสี พร้อมกับย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการสร้างและรักษาความสมัครสมานสามัคคี เพื่อให้ชุมชนไทยมีความเข้มแข็งพึ่งพาตนเองได้ และเป็นพลังของการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมของนิวซีแลนด์ต่อไป จากนั้น เริ่มต้นการเต้นแอโรบิกเพื่อเตรียมร่างกายให้พร้อมก่อนการแข่งขันกีฬา โดยกีฬาที่แข่งขันในครั้งนี้ ประกอบด้วย ฟุตบอล แชร์บอล วิ่งผลัดเปลี่ยนชุด และเหยียบลูกโป่ง โดยในช่วงท้ายกิจกรรม นางกรรณมน เสนาณรงค์ อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษา ผู้แทนเอกอัครราชทูตฯ มอบถ้วยรางวัล Ambassador Cup แก่ทีมผู้ชนะเลิศและมอบรางวัลพิเศษต่าง ๆ เพื่อเป็นกำลังใจแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมแข่งขันทุกทีม กิจกรรมครั้งนี้มีชุมชนไทยและครอบครัว เข้าร่วมกว่า 80 คน 

นับเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่ชุมชนไทยได้มาพบปะสังสรรค์ แลกเปลี่ยนและพูดคุยผ่านกิจกรรมที่สร้างสรรค์และเป็นประโยชน์ อีกทั้งยังส่งเสริมให้ทุกคนหันมาใส่ใจสุขภาพ เสริมสร้างความแข็งแรงทั้งกายและใจ อันเป็นรากฐานสำคัญของชุมชนที่เข้มแข็งและเกื้อกูลกันอย่างยั่งยืน

On 22 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador-designate, and his spouse, together with officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy, participated in the Wellington Thai Community’s Thai Community Sports Day 2026 at the Hataitai Netball Pavilion, New Zealand. The event was organized in collaboration with the Thai Students' Association of Victoria University in Wellington.

The Ambassador presided over the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of building and maintaining harmony and solidarity so that the Thai community will grow stronger, be self-reliant, and play a role in social and economic development of New Zealand. Afterwards, the activities began with an aerobics dance session. The sports day featured a variety of competitions, including football, chair ball, a relay race with outfit changes and balloon-stomping games. At the end of the event, Mrs. Kanamon Senanarong, Minister-Counsellor and representative of the Ambassador, presented the Ambassador Cup to the winning team, along with awards to all participating teams. More than 80 Thai nationals and their families attended the event.

This event strengthened unity and connections within the Thai community in Wellington, bringing people together through meaningful activities while promoting health, well-being, and a strong and supportive community.
