สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้ร่วมทำบุญตักบาตร 

เนื่องในวันอาสาฬบูชาและวันเข้าพรรษา ณ วัดโพธิญาณาราม วัดพระธรรมกาย และวัดธรรมประทีป

 กรุงเวลลิงตัน ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์

เมื่อวันที่ ๒๐ - ๒๑ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๗ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ข้าราชการและเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ พร้อมด้วยชุมชนไทยและพุทธศาสนิกชนในนิวซีแลนด์และครอบครัว ได้ร่วมพิธีทำบุญเนื่องในวันอาสาฬบูชาและวันเข้าพรรษาประจำปีพุทธศักราช ๒๕๖๗ กิจกรรมประกอบด้วย การสวดมนต์ ฟังพระธรรมเทศนา ทำบุญตักบาตร ถวายภัตตาหารเพลแด่พระภิกษุสงฆ์ ณ วัดโพธิญาณาราม และในช่วงเย็นร่วมพิธีสวดมนต์ นั่งสมาธิ ณ วัดพระธรรมกาย และในวันที่ ๒๑ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๗ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เข้าร่วมพิธีทำบุญตักบาตร ถวายไทยธรรม ผ้าไตรจีวร ผ้าป่า เวียนเทียน หล่อเทียนและถวายเทียนเข้าพรรษา เนื่องในโอกาสวันเข้าพรรษา ณ วัดธรรมประทีป กรุงเวลลิงตัน ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์

วันอาสาฬบูชา วันขึ้น ๑๕ ค่ำ เดือน ๘ ปีนี้ตรงกับวันเสาร์ที่ ๒๐ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๗ เป็นวันที่สมเด็จพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าทรงประกาศพระพุทธศาสนาเป็นครั้งแรก และได้ทรงแสดงปฐมเทศนา ชื่อว่า “ธัมมจักกัปปวัตตนสูตร” หรือการเดินทางสายกลาง อันเป็นแนวทางเพื่อบรรลุถึงอริยสัจสี่ และมรรคมีองค์แปด สำหรับกิจกรรมในวันอาสาฬหบูชา คือ ทำบุญ ตักบาตร รักษาศีล เวียนเทียน ฟังพระธรรมเทศนา และสวดมนต์เจริญจิตตภาวนา

วันเข้าพรรษา วันแรม ๑ ค่ำ เดือน ๘ ปีนี้ตรงกับวันอาทิตย์ที่ ๒๑ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๗ เป็นวันที่พระสงฆ์เถรวาทจะอธิษฐานว่าจะพักประจำอยู่ ณ ที่ใดที่หนึ่งตลอดระยะเวลาฤดูฝนที่มีกำหนดเป็นระยะเวลา ๓ เดือน ตามที่พระธรรมวินัยบัญญัติไว้ โดยไม่ไปค้างแรมที่อื่น หรือที่เรียกโดยทั่วไปว่า "จำพรรษา"

สำหรับกิจกรรมวันอาสาฬบูชา และวันเข้าพรรษา ถือเป็นการสืบสานวัฒนธรรมทางศาสนาของชาวพุทธ โดยมีการทำบุญต่าง ๆ เพื่อทำนุบำรุงพระพุทธศาสนาให้เจริญรุ่งเรืองสืบไป และยังช่วยเสริมสร้างความเข้มแข็งให้ชุมชนไทยในต่างประเทศ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ขอร่วมอนุโมทนาบุญกับพุทธศาสนิกชนที่ได้ร่วมทำบุญในครั้งนี้ และขอผลบุญกุศลทั้งปวง ดลบันดาลให้ชุมชนไทยในนิวซีแลนด์และครอบครัว มีแต่ความสุข ความเจริญ และมีสุขภาพแข็งแรง สมปราถนาในสิ่งพึงประสงค์ที่ถูกต้องตามทำนองคลองธรรมทั้งหลายทั้งปวง

On 20-21 July 2024, Ambassador Waravuth Pouapinya, along with the Embassy staff and the Thai community, attended the Buddhist merit-making ceremonies on the occasion of Asarnha Bucha Day. The activities included listening to monks chanting and preaching, and offering food to the monks at Bodhinyanarama Temple in Stokes Valley. In the evening, the Ambassador attended a chanting ceremony and meditation at Wat Dhammakaya in Tawa. On July 21 2024, the Ambassador participated in a merit-making ceremony on the occasion of Buddhist Lent Day. The activities included food offering to the monks, robes offering and candles making as well as candles offering for the Buddhist Lent, and a candlelit procession at Wat Dhammaprateep in Newlands, Wellington, New Zealand.

Asalha Puja Day, the 15th day of the waxing moon in the 8th lunar month this year, falls on Saturday, 20 July 2024. This is the day when the Lord Buddha proclaimed Buddhism for the first time and delivered his first sermon, called the "Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta," or the Middle Way. This path serves as the guideline to attain the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path. Activities on Asalha Puja Day included making-merit, offering alms, observing precepts, participating in candlelight processions, listening to Dhamma sermons, and chanting for mental development.

Khao Phansa Day (Buddhist Lent day), the first day of the waning moon in the 8th lunar month this year, falls on Sunday, 21 July 2024. This is the day when Theravada monks vow to remain in one place for the entire rainy season, which lasts for three months as prescribed by the Vinaya, the monastic code. During this period, they do not stay overnight at any other location, a practice commonly known as "Vassa" or the Rains Retreat.

This event strengthened the Thai community’s unity and solidarity and the importance of supporting the Buddhist monastic community.
