Visakha Bucha Day commemorates the three most significant events in the life of the Lord Buddha — His birth, enlightenment, and passing into Parinirvana — all of which took place on the same day, the full moon day of the sixth lunar month.

 

For this reason, Visakha Bucha Day is regarded by Buddhists around the world as one of the most important holy days. It is also a valuable opportunity to reflect upon the Buddha’s teachings and apply them in daily life, bringing peace and happiness to oneself and to others.
