เมื่อวันที่ ๒๘ กันยายน ๒๕๖๗ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ได้เข้าร่วมเทศกาล Southeast Asia Festival ณ Auckland Showgrounds นครโอ๊คแลนด์ โดยชุมชนไทยได้ร่วมจัดตกแต่งบูธภายในงาน ประกอบด้วยการสาธิตการทำข้าวเกรียบปากหม้อ การสาธิตการนวดแผนไทย รวมถึงการแสดงวัฒนธรรมไทยบนเวที ได้แก่ รำกลองยาว บุญบั้งไฟ ฟ้อนขันดอก และสาธิตแม่ไม้มวยไทย ซึ่งเป็นการเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทยออกสู่สายตาชาวต่างชาติที่มาร่วมงาน

นอกจากนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ร่วมกับเอกอัครราชทูตจากกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน ประจำนิวซีแลนด์ ได้ร่วมออกบูธประชาสัมพันธ์และสร้างความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับองค์การอาเซียนและกลุ่มประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนในด้านต่าง ๆ ต่อสาธารณชนนิวซีแลนด์ รวมทั้งข้อมูลรายประเทศ สถานที่ท่องเที่ยว ศักยภาพทางเศรษฐกิจ ความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรม และ soft power โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมงานกว่า ๒๐,๐๐๐ คน เป็นการเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างประชาชนอาเซียน - นิวซีแลนด์ และเป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมสำคัญที่จะนำไปสู่การเฉลิมฉลองความสัมพันธ์อาเซียน – นิวซีแลนด์ ครบ ๕๐ ปี ในปี ๒๕๖๘ ต่อไป

On 28 September 2024, Ambassador Waravuth Pouapinya attended the Southeast Asia Festival at Auckland Showgrounds in Auckland, with the good corperation fo the Thai community to promote Thai art and culture such as a fruit carving, Thai cooking, and Thai massage demonstration. The Thai community also delighted the audience through performances of "Ram klong yao", or the long drum dance  "Boon bang fai", or the rocket festival dance, Muay Thai demonstration, and the "Fon khan dok" flower scattering dance.

Ambassador also joined other ASEAN Heads of Mission in raising awareness of the ASEAN organization, which comprises ten member states in Southeast Asia (Brunei Darussalam, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), through ASEAN booths to promote ASEAN countries' economic potentials, tourism, and culture. The festival was attended by over 20,000 people, helping to encourage people-to-people links and enhance ASEAN-New Zealand ties leading up to the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-New Zealand relations in 2025.
