From 2 October 2020 to 30 September 2021, Special Tourist Visas (STV) may be granted to applicants who are NEW ZEALAND CITIZENS or PERMANENT RESIDENTS wishing to enter Thailand as "Long Stay" tourists. This type of visa is strictly for the purpose of TOURISM and TEMPORARY STAY in Thailand. Holders of STV will not be allowed to switch visa types while staying in Thailand.
Upon entry to Thailand all STV holders must undergo a 14-day quarantine at either a hotel accredited as an "Alternative State Quarantine" (ASQ) facility or a hospital accredited as an "Alternative Hospital Quarantine" (AHQ) facility. Hotel or hospital bookings are to be arranged by the applicants.
VALIDITY OF VISA:
90 days (single-entry)
PERIOD OF STAY:
Period of stay may be extended no more than twice (90 days per extension)
NZ$120 (non-refundable). Payment can be made either by cash or bank cheque (payable to the Royal Thai Embassy).
Original passport with a validity period of at least 12 months from the expected date of travel
2 completed Visa Application Forms
2 recent passport-sized photos
Copy of NZ Permanent Resident Visa (for non-NZ citizens)
Health insurance from a THAI INSURANCE COMPANY with minimum coverage of 40,000 THB/year for outpatients and 400,000 THB/year for inpatients which covers the entire duration of the applicant's stay in Thailand
ASQ or AHQ booking confirmation letter, issued and signed by the hotel/hospital (for a minimum quarantine period of 14 days)
Proof of accomodation in Thailand after completing the 14-day quarantine (please provide one of the following):
(1) Certificate of ownership of a condiminium unit in Thailand registered under the applicant's name or family member
(2) Proof of payment for hotel booking or apartment/property rentals (issued by the hotel/property owner with taxpayer ID number, address and contact details clearly indicated) for the entire duration of stay in Thailand
(3) Proof of payment for the purchase or leasehold of a condominium unit in Thailand with at least 2 installments paid
Criminal record clearance issued by relevant authorities of New Zealand
Medical certificate issued and certified by a licensed doctor of the country where the application is submitted, confirming that the applicant is free from the prohibited illnesses indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535
Spouse or children (20 years of age or under) of the applicant: please provide a notarized copy of marriage or birth certificate
